Govt to take necessary action against use of chemical fertilizers

Minister of Agriculture and Farmers welfare, Narender Singh Tomar assured the Parliament that the Government will take necessary action against the use of chemical fertilizers after the ICAR or ICMR will come out with their reports on the ill effects of these fertilizers.

Govt clarifies, no proposal to bring any changes in special provisions under Article 371(2), Articles 371 (A) to 371 (I)

The government clarified that there is no proposal to bring any changes in the special provisions for the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Sikkim, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa and establishment of a Central University in Andhra Pradesh provided under the Article 371(2) and Articles 371 (A) to 371 (I) of the Constitution of India.

President Kovind to reach Kerala today for two days visit

President Ram Nath Kovind will reach Kerala today evening for a two-day visit. President will arrive in Kannur International airport on 19.11.2019 where he will be welcomed by Kerala Governor, Arif Muhammed Khan and other State Ministers. President will proceed to Indian Naval Academy INA and stay there overnight. He will present the prestigious President's Colour to the INA at Ezhimala, in Kannur in Kerala on 20.11.2019.

950 cases of ceasefire violations along LoC between August-October 2019 in J&K

Nine hundred and Fifty incidents of ceasefire violations along the line of control from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir were reported during the period August 2019 to October  2019.

Total 35 lakh tourists including 13,000 foreigners visit J&K during last six months: MoS for Home Affairs

G Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home Affairs informed Lok Sabha that a total of 35 lakh tourists including 13,000 foreign nationals visited Jammu and Kashmir during the last six months. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Mr Reddy also informed that an income of 25 crore rupees has been earned through tourism during this period. The data is as per the Jammu and Kashmir government.

Rajya Sabha should check, not clog, PM tells Elders

Urging MPs to adopt the path of debate and not resort to stalling business in the name of “checks and balance”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the critical role of the Rajya Sabha in passing historic bills while underlining that there was a difference between “checking and clogging”. The PM spoke of decisions like nullifying Article 370, banning triple talaq, the law to usher in GST and the constitutional amendment pertaining to quota for the economically weak. He emphasised how the House had moved with changing circumstances to assimilate new ideas over time.
