st powerful 12000 HP Made in India locomotive made its maiden commercial run between Deen Dayal Upadhaya and Shivpur stations in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, the national transporter said. Built by French company Alstom under the government's Make in India programme at the Railways' Madhepura factory in Bihar, these engines are the highest-powered locomotives that will run on Indian rails. All 800 of these locos are being manufactured indigenously while they have been designed at the company's engineering centre in Bengaluru.

Nepal’s Cabinet has endorsed a new political map showing Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura under its territory, amidst a border dispute with India.
The move announced by Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali came weeks after he said that efforts were on to resolve the border issue with India through diplomatic initiatives. India has contributed $2 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine Refugees to support the agency's core programmes amid the coronavirus crisis.
India has given USD 2 million in aid to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency working for the welfare of Palestinian refugees in support of its core programmes and services, including education and health, amidst the coronavirus crisis. India had increased its annual contribution to the UNRWA from USD 1.25 million in 2016 to USD 5 million in 2019. It pledged another USD 5 million for 2020 which opens its way to become a member of the agency’s advisory commission, according to official sources. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) applauded India’s financial support to keep its basic services operating, especially under the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a major development, Kotak Mahindra Bank (Kotak) announced the introduction of Video KYC to open a full-fledged Kotak 811 savings account – a first in Indian banking.
otak Mahindra Bank on Monday announced the introduction of a video Know Your Customer (KYC) to open a full-fledged Kotak 811 savings account. “This initiative, presently being launched on a pilot basis for savings accounts, is in line with Kotak’s digital-first strategy and is a start-to-end fully integrated, zero-contact, completely digital and paperless account opening plus full KYC journey,” the lender said in a statement. “Video KYC process to onboard new customers will be extended to other products in a phased manner,” it added. In January 2020, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) amended KYC norms and introduced a video-based KYC option to onboard customers.

11 member high-level committee under the chairmanship of Rajesh Bhushan formed to reform drug regulatory system in India

IAF to launch its squadron Number-18 - Flying Bullets with a fleet of LCA Tejas at its Sulur base near Coimbatore
The Indian Air Force is set to operationalize its squadron called the Number-18 - Flying Bullets with a fleet of the Light Combat Aircraft, LCA Tejas at its Sulur base near Coimbatore. It will be launched by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal R K S Bhadauria. It will be the second Indian Air Force squadron to operate with the modern multi-role light fighter aircraft.

Recovery rate of patients from COVID-19 infection improve to 41.57 per cent
The recovery rate of patients from COVID-19 infection has improved further and it has now reached 41.57 per cent. Union Health Ministry, in a statement, said that a total of  57,720 people have cured so far from the infection and in the last 24 hours, 3,280 patients have recovered. The total number of confirmed cases has now gone up to 1,38,845. The number of cases under active medical supervision is 77,103.
