Govt to invest over Rs one lakh cr for infrastructure development in next 5 years
Finance Minister Nirmal Sitharaman today said foreign investors continue to show confidence in India. Replying to discussions on Union Budget 2020-21 in the Lok Sabha, Mrs Sitharaman said banks are now better equipped to fund growth investment.
Asserting that government  will invest over one lakh crore rupees in infrastructure development by 2024-25, Finance Minister said county’s economy is moving forward.

President Trump's upcoming visit will give boost to India-US strategic partnership
President Donald Trump will arrive on a state visit to India on 24th of this month. This will be the President's first visit to India. He will be accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump. 
In an official release, Ministry of External Affairs said that during the two-day visit, President Trump and the First Lady will attend official engagements in New Delhi and Gujarat. They will interact with a wide section of Indian society. The ministry has said, President Trump's upcoming visit will give a boost to India-US strategic partnership.

Israel's NSA meets PM Modi; discusses deepening bilateral relationship
Israel's National Security Adviser Meir Ben Shabbat met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 10th February, 2020 and discussed the deepening relationship between the two countries. Besides calling on Mr Modi, he also met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. India and Israel share close defence ties.

India has made great success in conservation of nature, wild animals: Javadekar
Addressing a curtain raiser press conference on Conference Of the Parties, COP on the Conservation of Migratory Species in New Delhi, Mr Javadekar said, this 13th convention will be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat from 17th to 22nd of this month. He said, 130 countries including 15 Foreign Ministers and 18 State Ministers from various states will participate in this convention. More than 1,800 experts across the country and bird lovers will also attend the COP13.

National Deworming Day being observed across the country
The National Deworming Day is being observed across the country on 10th February 2020. Children and adolescents in the age group of 1 to 19 years are being administered single dose of a safe medicine Albendazole in all states and Union Territories on the occasion. 

1st look of biopic on former President APJ Abdul Kalam released
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar released the first look of a biopic on former President APJ Abdul Kalam in New Delhi on 9th February 2020. Mr Javadekar along with Producer and Director Madhur Bhandarkar and Hollywood Producer and Director Johnny Martin released a poster of the film on the occasion. Hollywood actor Muhammad Ali is playing Dr Kalam’s role in the movie.

National Conference on e-Governance 2020 concluded
The National Conference on e-Governance 2020 concluded in Mumbai on 9th February 2020 with deliberations on transforming governance using digital technologies. In the keynote address at the valedictory session, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said that e-Governance is the key to the future of India's developmental journey. The minister stated that whether it is e-NAM or Ayushman Bharat, e-Governance is essential to good governance. The Mumbai Declaration on e-Governance was unanimously adopted on a concluding day.

South Korean film 'Parasite' makes history by winning Best Film Oscar
The 92nd Oscar awards have been announced and for the first time in the history of awards, a non-english film 'Parasite' managed to win not one but four prizes. Bong Joon Ho's satire on class divides in South Korea took Hollywood's top prize along with awards for best director, best international film and best screenplay. Parasite defeated highly-fancied dramas including 1917, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood and The Irishman.
In other categories, Joaquin Phoenix won the best actor for "Joker" and Renee Zellweger bagged the best actress for "Judy". For best supporting act Brad Pitt got the award for "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" and Laura Dern for "Marriage Story".

National Water Conference in Madhya Pradesh: Experts express concern over growing water crisis
Well-known water experts of the country have expressed concern over the growing water crisis. They were speaking at the National Water Conference being held in Madhya Pradesh capital Bhopal.The Conference was inaugurated by Chief Minister Kamal Nath. The inaugural session was addressed by State Water Resources Minister Sukhdev Panse and Rajendra Singh, known as Jal Purush.

Central govt issues advisory to States/ UTs to implement vehicle registration system
File PIcMinistry of Road Transport and Highways has issued an advisory to all States to implement the system of vehicle registration as per Rules notified under the Central Motor Vehicle Act 1988. The advisory was issued after it came to the notice of the Ministry that in some States, vehicles are not being registered in spite of vehicles having Valid Type Approval certificates. The Advisory states, that the VAHAN system provides a  mechanism for the inventory of vehicles being uploaded by the vehicle manufacturers against valid type-approval certificates.
