As per the provisional population totals of Census 2011, the population density of India has gone up to 382 persons per square kilometer from 325 persons per square kilometer in 2011. On an average, 57 more people inhabit every square kilometer in the country as compared to a decade ago.

RBI relaxes withdrawal limits for deposits made in legal tender
RBI has relaxed weekly withdrawal limits in cases where deposits are made in current legal tender notes and said, the decision has been taken as certain depositors are hesitating to deposit money in view of current limits on cash withdrawals. The withdrawal limit will increase by the amount of deposits made in accounts in legal currency. The apex bank said, preferably, available higher denominations notes of 2,000 and 500 rupees may be issued for such withdrawals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked BJP MPs and MLAs to submit details of their bank account transactions between 8th November and 31st December to party President Amit Shah. Addressing BJP Parliamentary Party meeting in New Delhi today, Mr. Modi rejected the allegation that the Income-Tax Amendment Bill tabled in the Lok Sabha yesterday is for converting black money into white.
Rajnath leaves for Havana to pay last respects to Former Cuban President Fidel Castro
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh left for Cuban capital Havana this morning to pay last respects to the country's former President and revolutionary leader Fidel Castro who passed away on Friday. Mr Singh is among the various world leaders who will attend the mass commemorative event at Revolution Square in the city. An Indian delegation is accompanying the Home Minister.
The week-long commemoration began yesterday at the Square where thousands of people are paying their respects to the departed leader. Simultaneous 21-gun salutes were fired to mark the beginning of the commemoration in Havana and the south-eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, from where Castro launched the revolution in 1953. The mourning period will end after his ashes are laid to rest on Sunday

Pension regulator Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, PFRDA has sought tax parity for National Pension System, NPS with that of Employees Provident Fund and Public Provident Fund, particularly with respect of lumpsum withdrawal of fund up to 60 per cent on superannuation.
White House :No evidence to support Trump's claim of voter fraud
The White House says there is no evidence to support Donald Trump's claim of widespread voter fraud in the 2016 US presidential election. Press Secretary Josh Earnest dismissed the president-elect's unsubstantiated allegations that millions of people had cast illegal votes. Mr Trump also alleged voter fraud in Virginia, New Hampshire and California, states which Hillary Clinton won.

Haiti: Jovenel Moise wins presidential vote in first round
Haitian businessman Jovenel Moise, the candidate backed by former president Michel Martelly, won the presidential vote in the first round, according to official early results. Provisional Electoral Council chief Uder Antoine said Moise is leading against Jude Celestin, candidate of the opposition Lapeh, scoring 55.67 percent against 19.52 percent.
Record number of boat migrants reach Italy this year
A record number of migrants have reached Italy by boat from North Africa in 2016 as pressure on Italy's shelter and asylum systems grows. In March, there was implementation of an agreement between the European Union and Turkey to address the issue of the flow of migrants moving to Greece. As of November 28, 171,299 boat migrants had reached Italy's shores, the Interior Ministry said, compared to the previous record of 170,100 for all of 2014.

Thailand's Cabinet today acknowledged the appointment of a new king. Defence minister Prawit Wongsuwan said that the death of the King Bhumibol Adulyadej on October 13 plunged the Southeast Asian nation into mourning. SC rejects Tamil Nadu's plea for review of jallikattu verdict
The Supreme Court has dismissed Tamil Nadu government's plea seeking review of its 2014 verdict banning use of bulls for jallikattu events in the state and bullock-cart races across the country. The court said, there was no connection of jallikattu with the right to freedom of religion under the Constitution. It said, when a bull is tamed for the purpose of an event, the fundamental concept runs counter to the welfare of the animal which is the basic foundation of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, PCA Act.

Informing this in the Rajya Sabha, environment minister Anil Madha Dave in a written response to a Parliament question said, “Average percentage of such projects for the period from 2009 to 2014 was 87.79%“. He noted that 53.86% of the projects had got clearance in 2014 while 90.70% of the projects got the green nod in 2015.

ICICI Bank on Monday said it will run a project to transform 100 villages across the country into digital villages in as many days. The project envisages enabling villagers to use digital channels for banking and payment transactions. ICICI Bank will open accounts for all and enable cashless payments to retail stores through messaging-based applications that can run on basic phones.
