Admission Details: Admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun January 2018 Term-Examination to be held on 1st and 2nd June 2017 at selected centres in the country of which Chennai city will be one.
Vacancies: Generally one vacancy per state is reserved for candidates. However States like UP, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Maharashtra which have large population, have up to 2 vacancies. If the selected student does not join a candidate in reserve from the same state joins.If there are no reserve candidates from respective states then reserve from all India merit joins.

Exam Pattern:The Examination will consist of both written and Viva-Voce tests. The Written examination will consist of three papers Viz English, Maths and General Knowledge. The medium of examination English or Hindi. The Interivew shall be held on 10.10.2017. Minimum pass marks in each paper including interview will be 50%.
Application Form: The Prospectus and Application form with set of old question papers for the above examination can be obtained by speed post from the ' The Commandant, Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, Uttarakhand-248 003.
Application Fee: Rs.550/- (Rs.505/- for SC/ST Candidates) Demand draft in favour of "The Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun" payable at SBI-Tel, Bhavan Branch, Dehradun (Code-01576)
Age Limit:
- Those seeking admission to the college should not be less than 11 years and 6 month in age and should not have attained the age of 13 years as on 1.01.2018. The should have been born not earlier than 2.01.2018 and not later than 1st July 2006.
- No Relaxation of age limit will be allowed. The candidates should either be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognised School, at the time of admission to the Rashriya Indian Military College on 1st January 2018.
Entrance Examination: For admission into the College, candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in an All-India Examination held twice a year. The general standard of questions in the entrance examination is of class VII.
There are two sections for the entrance exam :-
A.Written :- The written part of the examination consists of a test paper in English (125 Marks), Mathematics (200 Marks), and General Knowledge (75 marks). Candidates can appear for the Mathematics test in Hindi or English Medium. General Knowledge can be answered in English, Hindi or any one of the regional languages. To qualify, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 50 % Marks in each subject.
C.Oral (Viva Voce) :- The oral examination consists of a Viva Voce test of 50 marks, which is designed to assess a candidate's intelligence, personality and confidence.
