Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited on Sunday claimed it had made a world record by registering more than 1.6 crore users in its one month of operation. Reliance Jio on Sunday claimed it has created “a world record” by crossing the 1.6-crore subscriber mark in its first month of operations — September. Reliance Jio Infocomm is a subsidiary of RIL. Jio, whose controversial entry into the world’s second-largest telephony market sparked off a tariff war, had onboarded 15 lakh users on its 4G network during the test phase. It said in a statement that Jio had achieved the mark faster than any other telecom operator or popular app worldwide, including WhatsApp, Facebook and Skype.
