1. Singapore will name an orchid after Narendra Modi to honour him when the Prime Minister visits the city-state on November 23 to sign a strategic partnership document between the two countries and deliver the prestigious Singapore lecture.

The Kerala government will formally release the State Policy for Transgenders in Kerala 2015, at the International Conference for Gender Equality (ICGE) which is set to begin on 12.11.2015 in the capital. 5. Climate change could push more than 100 million peo ple into extreme poverty by 2030 by disrupting agriculture and fuelling the spread of malaria and other diseases, the World Bank has said in a report.

Greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere reached a record high in 2014 and the relentless fuelling of climate change is endangering the planet for future generations, the World Meteorological Organisation said on 09.11.2015. The main greenhouse gas, climbing steadily towards the 400-parts-per-million (ppm) level, having hit a new record every year since reliable records began in 1984.Carbon dioxide levels averaged 397.7 ppm in 2014 but briefly breached the 400-ppm threshold in the northern hemisphere in early 2014, and again globally in early 2015. “Next year we will be reporting much higher concentrations because of El Nino,“ WMO atmospheric research chief Oksana Tarasova said.

The Confederation for British Industry's latest quarterly economic forecast released on the eve of PM Narendra Modi's visit has predicted that India will be the fastest growing economy among the G20 by 2017 (7.6%).In total, G20 nations invested $73.9 billion in India between 2000-2015 with the UK followed by Japan ($18.3 billion), US ($13.7billion), Germany ($7.6 billion) and France ($ 4.5 billion).
