2. NEW DELHI - RBI - The Union government on Thursday proposed to strip the Reserve Bank of Governor's veto vote on India's Monetary Policy.The Government also proposed to grant itself the power to appoint four of the six members of the Monetary Policy Committee. Draft proposes Reserve Bank 'Chairperson' to head the panel. RBI Governor may be re-designated as Chairperson.

3. SAARC - SATELLITE - The launch of SAARC (South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation) satellite has been pegged at an estimate Rs.235 crore and the cost of associated with the launch will be met by the country.

4. ANDRAPRADESH - VISAKHAPATNAM - DEFENCE - The International Fleet Review (IFR) which will be hosted for the first time by the Eastern Naval Command for the five days from 4th February, 2016 at Visakhapatnam. 36 Country Navies confirmed participation in this Review.

5. CHINA - POPULATION -   China coulde be on course to shed its one-child policy, allowing couples to have a second child to counter the demographic trend of an aging society and growing labour shortages. China, which introduced the one-child policy in  1980,  claims the policy has prevented nearly 400 million births.

6. BUSINESS- DEFENCE - First in India Aerostates envelope during testing phase at Pipave facility.Reliance group ARM signs MoU with Augur Overseas Operation of Singapore, a wholly owned subsidiary of Augur Aeronautical Centre, to manufacture Aerostats and Airships in India. Aerostates are currently manufactured in the USA, Germany and France.
