Asian Cricket Council (ACC) head quarter is now based in Dubai
The head quarter of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has moved out of Sri Lanka, it is learnt here.  According to the sources, the ACC is located in Dubai now. Incidentally, the news of moving the ACC office shifting from Colombo has not been made public via media release. Since the formation of the ACC on 19th September in 1983 (it was known as Asian Cricket Conference then), the ACC has seen several "houses" so far.

China Host A Conference On Dialogue Of Asian Civilizations In Beijing

The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations officially opened on Wednesday morning. Over 2,000 government officials and representatives from 47 Asian countries as well as other countries outside the region are participating in the event.

India To Host Part Of International Army Games For First Time In August
In a first, India will host a part of an international military sports event in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer over nine days in August, in a bid to promote bonhomie among the participating countries, senior officials of Army. International Army Games, organised by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, have been taking place since 2015. Nearly 32 countries participate in the event. In 2019, it is proposed that the International Army Games will have 32 disciplines to be hosted by 10 countries -- Russia, India, China, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Iran, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Kazakhsta. The Army Scout Masters Competition will be conducted from August 6 to August 14, officials said.

180 nations agree on a new UN accord to curb export of plastic waste
Around 180 governments on Friday agreed on a new UN accord to regulate the export of plastic waste, some eight million tonnes of which ends up in the oceans each year. The 1,400 representatives, meeting in Geneva reached the agreement after 12 days’ discussion on what Rolph Payet, Executive Secretary of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) called “one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues”.

Indian Navy’s first full-fledged SSB opened at in Kolkata
The Indian Navy's first full-fledged Services Selection Board (SSB) was on Tuesday inaugurated by Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba at Diamond Harbour near Kolkata. This is the fifth SSB of the Indian Navy and will cater for selection of both permanent and short service commission (SSC) officers. The other boards are located in Bhopal, Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam and Coimbatore.
