Rabindranath Tagore
- Rabindranath Tagore born on 7 May 1861 in Calcutta.
- His pen name were Gurudev/Bhanu Shingho.
- His contributed is huge, not only in the Indian freedom movement but also in the platform of literature.
- He started writing poems at the age of eight.
- His notable award is Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.
- He is still remembered for his notable work – Gitanjali (Song Offerings),Gora (Fair-Faced), Ghare-Baire (The Home and the World) etc.
- He was the first non-European to get Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.
- He has written many books like Bhikarini (The Beggar woman in Bengali), Sandhya Sangeeth, Nirjharer Swapnabhanga (Poem) etc,which mounds many lives.
- He has written National anthems for 2 countries, India – “Jana Gana Mana” and Bengal – “Amar Shonar Bangla”.
- He has also written prose-poems like Punashcha in the year of 1932, Shes Saptak in 1935, and Patraput in 1936.
- He wrote prose-songs and dance-dramas which included Chitrangada in the year of 1914, Shyama in 1939, and Chandalika in 1938.
- He also wrote many novels like Dui Bon, Malancha and novellas like and Char Odhyay, Chaturanga, Shesher Kobita, and Noukadubi.
- He has also written non-fiction books like Europe Jatrir Patro and Manusher Dhormo.
- This famous freedom fighter and poet had his final breaths on 7 August 1941 (aged 80)
